Bradley is going through lots of different phases these days. Of course, he has his Thomas the Train toys -- he can identify which train is which (even the ones that look the same but have different numbers). That's his old reliable stand-by. But, he also really loves his Cars Lightning McQueen cars (we just watched the movie with him yesterday) and Mickey Mouse (whose name he yells repeatedly every time we go by the Disney Store at the mall, followed by crazy man running to the store). And, "bire buck," or "fire truck." He rarely wears hats, but this one was quite the exception, as he wore his "bireman hat" sent by his cousin Dean very proudly. Of course, today, he put on a Michigan hat that Dean re-gifted to him and was very proud of that hat, too, which made his Daddy proud.

Fireman Bradley!
And he goes through phases of preferring Mommy and Daddy for different things. It used to be all "Daddy back! Daddy home!" but that has changed. Daddy tried to read him a book the other day and he kept taking it from Daddy and returning it to Mommy to read. Quite hilarious. Not quite so hilarious are the burns every morning in the shower from Bradley biting Daddy on the shoulder -- Daddy is the only one who can really lift him while he squirms and struggles, so he is doing a lot of the discipline -- hence, the biting. Biting him back is a non-starter, that does not work. So, we've been having some really long conversations by a clock in the library room in the house. He's really mastered the meltdown. But, at least we can still manage him for about an hour and a half at restaurants. Friends of ours with a girl his age are not even able to go to restaurants because of the tantrums and throwing stuff.
The hard part is that sometimes the cure for one of his problems becomes another problem. For instance, we gave him multi-vitamins because he was getting sick all the time and then because of the multi-vitamins, he was having diarrhea. So, we had to take him off. We give him sippy cups with a silicone top to make sure he's drinking enough and he starts using them as a pacifier. And, of course, we have to worry that having all these conversations by the clock may contribute to his fear of clocks. It's such a fine line and a delicate balance with these little ones!
Good news, though -- he's really gone quite a while now since the nanny situation was resolved without being majorly sick!
