Toddler Bed!!

Bradley is very excited about his "new bed"! Unfortunately, his first night in the new bed was hard, with him saying "uh oh" after he wet his pajamas and then "new bed" once during the night as he came out of the bed. He also must have been up nine times moaning and needing a back rub. Tonight (7/5/10), we got him to put himself in bed after multiple ritualistic trips to the blinds, to the doorknob and to the new Lightning McQueen chair/bed, after reading Goodnight Moon in a whispering voice five times and getting a foot rub for climbing into bed himself.

Addendum 7/9/10: after three nights of Bradley being up at least three hours every night wanting to get out of his "new bed," he finally slept better last night. We read up on what to do, and everyone seemed to suggest that we be firm about him staying in bed once we put him there, and doing a routine before bed. So, we said goodnight to all his toys, then did not allow him out of his bed, though he screamed and cried for a good ten minutes and tried every way to get out. We then read Goodnight Moon, once while forcing him to stay in bed and then two additional times. We then said goodnight to his toes, arms, nose, eyes, mouth and ears, and asked him to "lie down" and "zzzz," which he complied with without further incident. Some moaning at night, but mostly because his diaper was too tight once it filled up, and because he is now ready for a size 6 diaper, which is the biggest diaper they make. We hope he potty trains early!

Dean did well going from crib to bed but we had to threaten Ashley. We would threaten to put the side back on and then she's lose her big girl bed. I only had to put it back on once and she hated it! :)
