The Great Atlanta Ice-in of 2011

Things got pretty desperate around here when it snowed 5 to 7 inches then freezing rain topped it off to make ice-covered roads and lawns here in Georgia. The city of Atlanta was no match for this ice-over with its ten snow plows. Three of these snow plows met their untimely demise when two ran into each other and the other ran into a median.

For our part, we were stuck in the house with a two and a half year old. This was fine, except we needed to get some work done and that was next to impossible. Bradley missed his new nanny, Brittany, but yesterday, he got to see her again and he will see her again today.

Pictured above, Bradley started learning how to eat from the dog, putting his face in his bowl of Cheerios. Mommy and Daddy were busy fighting over Caffeine-free Diet Coke. Daddy thought it was funny to label the remaining two Diet Cokes with tape blazoned with the word "Mark." Mommy did not think it was that funny and picked up her corn dog stick (part of our lunch meal as we raided the back of the freezer) and was about to throw it at Daddy. When it seemed like we were going to run out of diapers, some nice neighbors we've never met braved the ice and went to the store. We brought them the remainder of Mommy's cookies that she baked when it seemed like all hope was lost (Mommy bakes cookies when it seems that all hope is lost).

We all went a little stir-crazy, but things are starting to return to normal now. Bradley hasn't been out of the house for four days, but we anticipate getting him out to go somewhere special soon.
